Brianna and Rick's West Green Ceremony and Maggiano's Reception
Brianna and Rick's wedding was a family day from start to finish. They said their vows under the oaks at The Gardens at West Green in San Antonio, took portraits with their two boys in the garden and then headed to Maggiano's Little Italy to celebrate with dinner, toasts and cake.
If you're considering this venue, our Gardens at West Green venue guide walks through the ceremony site, getting-ready rooms and the best photo spots, and Sonia and Jamison's wedding shows another real wedding at West Green.
Getting Ready
Brianna got ready in the bright bridal suite with her all-white bouquet. Down the hall, Rick got their two sons dressed in matching tuxedos and spent a few quiet minutes with them before the ceremony.
A First Look with Her Dad
Before the ceremony, Brianna shared a first look with her dad in one of the getting-ready rooms. She gave him a handkerchief embroidered with a note thanking him for walking by her side, and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day.
A Quiet Moment Before the Ceremony
Brianna and Rick met at the white wooden wall under the oaks and stood back to back for a few quiet minutes together, saving the moment he would see her for the walk down the aisle.
The Ceremony Under the Oaks
Brianna's dad walked her down the aisle across the lawn, past their guests and under the oak trees, to Rick waiting at the white loggia. They exchanged vows framed by the loggia's arches and white florals, then walked back up the aisle hand in hand as a married couple.
Portraits with Their Boys and Just the Two of Them
Their sons were part of every step of the day, so we started with family portraits at the loggia before moving on to photos of just Brianna and Rick. A few of our favorites happened under her veil and by the fountain in the courtyard.
A First Dance in the Courtyard
Right after the ceremony, Brianna and Rick shared their first dance in the courtyard with their guests gathered around them. It was simple and intimate, and a beautiful way to start the celebration.
Reception at Maggiano's Little Italy
For the reception, everyone headed to Maggiano's Little Italy for an Italian dinner in a private room set with white linens and white florals. The night included toasts, a white wedding cake and plenty of time with their boys.
A restaurant reception is a great fit for an intimate wedding, since dinner, the space and the service are all in one place. We've written more about Maggiano's as a micro wedding reception venue in San Antonio.
