Willow Ridge at Camp Fimfo opened in 2023, and after photographing Marcy and G's wedding there in October 2026, we can see why couples are choosing it. The venue sits on a plateau in New Braunfels with wide Hill Country views, a hilltop ceremony site, a timber-and-stone great hall, and cabins on site for getting ready and for guests.
This guide covers the ceremony site, the great hall, the getting-ready cabins, our favorite photo spots, and what to know while you plan. For the story of Marcy and G's day, read their Willow Ridge wedding story.
Where Willow Ridge Is
Willow Ridge is at 520 Whitewater Way in New Braunfels, inside the Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country resort. The venue sits on a secluded plateau overlooking 475 acres of Hill Country, and Camp Fimfo runs along the Guadalupe River. New Braunfels sits between San Antonio and Austin, so it's an easy drive for guests coming from either city.
The Hilltop Ceremony Site
The ceremony site is a short walk up a stone stairway from the reception hall. A tall timber structure frames the couple, and behind it the land falls away to an open Hill Country view, so your guests see the same backdrop your photos do.
Marcy and G's ceremony had soft, overcast October light. That's a gift for photos: even skin tones, no squinting, and the hills stay visible behind the couple instead of washing out. If the weather turns, Willow Ridge also has an indoor ceremony option, so you have a backup without leaving the property.
The Great Hall
The reception hall was designed by Waco architect David Nisbet, and it's fully climate-controlled, which matters in a Texas summer. Inside are polished concrete floors, exposed wood beams and a stone fireplace that anchors the room. It seats more than 200 guests, has its own bar, and opens onto a covered patio with a second fireplace and a lounge area.
Marcy and G set the hall with long farm tables, white runners, white and peach florals and dark chairs. Their cake and cupcake towers sat by the big windows, where the natural light is best for detail photos. After dark, candles on every table turned the room warm and golden.
The Getting-Ready Cabins
Willow Ridge has two private getting-ready cabins, each about 1,200 square feet, and they're complimentary for weddings with 100 or more guests. The bride's cabin has white walls and a chandelier, so it photographs bright and clean. The groom's side has warm wood walls and big windows, which gives his getting-ready photos a richer, moodier feel.
Our Favorite Photo Spots at Willow Ridge
After photographing a full wedding here, these are the spots we'd plan portraits around:
- The stone terraces below the main building, for layered stonework and room to move.
- The terrace paths, for walking shots with the Hill Country falling away behind you.
- The overlook lawn in the hour before sunset, when the light turns soft and warm across the hills.
- The great hall fireplace, for a first dance and evening photos with real character.
