Five days after her bridal portraits at the McNay, Marcy married G on a hilltop in the Texas Hill Country. Their October wedding at Willow Ridge at Camp Fimfo in New Braunfels had soft gray skies, a wedding party that never stopped cheering, and two people who couldn't stop laughing every time we pointed a camera at them.
If you saw Marcy's bridal session at the McNay Art Museum, you already know how easily she lights up in front of a camera. On her wedding day, G was right there beside her.
Getting Ready
The morning started in the cabins at Willow Ridge. Marcy stood by the window in her lace veil while the soft light fell across her face. Across the property, G fixed his bow tie and fastened his watch and cufflinks, and the groomsmen gathered in navy suits with the Hill Country stretched out behind them.
The Ceremony
They said their vows under the tall timber structure on the hilltop, with the people they love filling the white chairs and the hills rolling away behind them.
Then came the walk back up the aisle as husband and wife: Marcy with her bouquet raised high, G waving to everyone who came to celebrate them.
Their People
Marcy's bridesmaids wore champagne satin, G's groomsmen wore navy, and all of them cheered like it was their own wedding day. You can see how much this group loves these two in every frame.
Just the Two of Them
We slipped away to the stone terraces and the overlook for portraits, and this is where Marcy and G really let go. G knelt beside her on the steps. He held her face while she laughed. There were kisses, quiet moments looking out over the hills, and more laughter than we could keep up with.
These are the photos we know they'll come back to for years.
Toasts, Cake and a Full Dance Floor
Back in the great hall, glasses went up for the toasts. Marcy and G cut the cake together, and she laughed all the way through it. They shared their first dance in front of the stone fireplace, and from there the night only got louder: a kiss at the bar, a trip to the photo booth, and a dance floor packed with friends dancing around Marcy.
The Send-Off
To close out the night, their guests lined up with ribbon wands, and Marcy and G walked out through the middle of them as newlyweds.
