Pecan Springs Ranch gives couples the Hill Country ranch look without a long drive from Austin. Here's what to know about getting married there, from a team that has photographed a wedding on the property.
Hill Country Charm, Minutes From Austin
Pecan Springs Ranch sits on 17 acres of pecan and oak trees along Slaughter Creek, with two ponds, just west of Austin. It's an easy trip for out-of-town guests and still feels tucked away. We recently photographed Marissa and Bryan's wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch, and the setting gave us something beautiful in every direction.
The Spaces
The main building is a 6,000 sq ft enclosed, climate-controlled event space, a big win for Texas summers, with an attached 1,800 sq ft terrace.
The creekside pavilion is a 4,500 sq ft covered space by the creek.
The lawns and trees make a natural ceremony site. Marissa and Bryan said their vows outdoors with the ranch's big trees overhead.
The drink donkeys are a Pecan Springs signature, and yes, one of them made it into Marissa and Bryan's portraits.
Getting Ready On Site
Pecan Springs Ranch has a bride's cottage and a separate groom's lounge, so everyone can get ready on the property. That keeps getting-ready photos relaxed and makes it easy for us to move from getting ready to a first look and the ceremony without losing time.
Photo Tips From Our Team
The trees are the star. Mature pecans and oaks give you shade, depth and that classic Hill Country feel. Plan couple portraits under the canopy.
Use the water. The creek and ponds make for beautiful backdrops around golden hour.
Group photos on the lawn. Open lawn with trees behind it is perfect for big wedding party photos.
Weather backup built in. The climate-controlled main building means rain or heat never has to derail your day.
